Thiamphenicol a class of broad-spectrum antibiotic chloramphenicol, against Gram-positive bacteria, such as the lung bacteria,hemolytic streptococcus strong antibacterial action on Gram-positive bacteria such as gonorrhea,meningitis Meningitis, lung Bacteroides, E. coli, Vibrio cholerae, Shigella, and influenza bacillus have a strong antibacterial effect on anaerobic bacteria family, Rickettsia, amoeba, also has some antibacterial action.
Thiamphenicol is mainly used for respiratory, urinary, liver and gallbladder, typhoid and other intestinal surgery, gynecology and ENT infections embolism, especially the role of mild infections in particular. thiamphenicol also has strong immunosuppressive effects , is an excellent immunosuppressant.

Application
An antibiotic produced by the soil actinomycete Streptomyces griseus. It acts by inhibiting the initiation and elongation processes during protein synthesis.
For tularemia, plague, brucellosis and glanders serious treatment (often combined with tetracycline or chloramphenicol). Also used second-line treatment of TB and multi-combination with other anti-TB drugs.
Thiamphenicol is also widely used in Brazil, particularly for the treatment of sexually transmitted infections and pelvic inflammatory disease.Unlike chloramphenicol, thiamphenicol is not readily metabolized in cattle, poultry, sheep, or humans, but is predominantly excreted unchanged. In pigs and rats the drug is excreted both as parent drug and as thiamphenicol glucuronate (FAO,1997).
