6-Paradol is a member of the curcumin family and one of the main active ingredients of ginger. It is a compound with a spicy taste, and its chemical structure is similar to capsaicin, but its spiciness is only one hundredth, or even one thousandth of that of capsaicin, and it is very irritating.
