Dimenidazole is an animal-specific antiprotozoal drug. Since metronidazole was banned, Dimenidazole is almost the only choice. It can inhibit the redox reaction of amoeba protozoa and break the nitrogen chain; it is effective against protozoa such as trichomoniasis, trichomonas, porcine colonic ciliates, flagellates, eperythrocytes, etc.; it is effective against anaerobic bacteria (necrotic bacteria) , Clostridium, Staphylococcus, Enterobacter), etc. It has a significant inhibitory effect. It is equally effective against spirochetes between protozoa and bacteria.

It is mainly used for avian vibrio hepatitis, necrotic tissue, histotrichomoniasis in turkeys, trichomoniasis in poultry, etc. It also has a good effect on trichomoniasis in cattle. For young turkey tissue trichomoniasis, 100-200 mg/kg feed concentration is used for prevention and 500 mg/kg feed concentration is used for treatment. After continuous use for 7-10 days, satisfactory results can be obtained. For pigeon trichomoniasis, drinking 500mg/L liquid medicine has a good control effect.
