What is Mefloquine?
Mefloquine is a synthetic 4-quinoline-methanol derivative. The medicine can effectively kill Erythrocytic schizont, especially for mature trophozoites and schizont with strong killing effect. It has no effect on plasmodium and Gametophyte in erythrocytic phase
Function
It is mainly used for chloroquine-resistant or multi-drug resistant Falciparum Malaria. It can be used in combination with sulfadoxine and pyrimethamine to enhance the efficacy and delay the occurrence of drug resistance. For symptomatic prevention
Application
It can increase the PH value of plasmodium bubble, form complex with free Heme, inhibit heme polymerization reaction, lead to heme accumulation, damage the structure of membrane.
