Policresulen is mainly used for the treatment of gynecological infectious diseases. It kills bacteria, fungi and trichomonas through strong acid and protein coagulation. It can selectively cause necrosis, diseased tissue and denaturation of columnar epithelial proteins, causing vasoconstriction and plasma protein coagulation to stop bleeding. Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde also has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, including common Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, fungi and certain viruses.
