As basic material using for manufacturing K1-K6, β -menadione(2-methy1-1, 4 Naphthaquinone) is liposoluble. Since β -menadione is fairly unstable, certain derivatives have been introduced in order to increase its stability, among which are: Menadione Sodium Bisulphate (MSB), the MSB-Complex, Menadione dimethyl Pyrimidiol Bisulphate (MPB) and finally the Menadione Nicotinamide Bisulphate (MNB). Vitamin K3 is essential for efficient blood-clotting, which is also used in handling diseases such as dysentery, cholecystitis, etc, especially indicating the bright future of curing cancer. Presently its main application is feed addictives and veterinary drugs. Other derivatives of β -menadione have different applications like pharmaceutical, biocides, anti-moulding additive and new type of plant growth promoter.
